A joint meeting was organized between the boards of the EMU, UEMYD, EHME and the Office of the European Capital of Culture 2016.

After that 'The Hondarribia Declaration Arts Education for a Society of Sustained Development in the 21st Century' was signed in the Parador de Hondarribia. The Declaration has been based on UNESCO's Seoul Agenda: Goals for the Development of Arts Education and the EMC Bonn Declaration.

The European Music School Union (EMU), in partnership with the European Music Council (EMC) and with participation of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires (AEC), will organise from 18 to 20 October 2012 in the Palace of Arts in Budapest a seminar on music education entitled From Seoul via Bonn to Budapest – Development Goals for European Music Education.

84 Participants representing 24 European National Associations of music schools and music and arts schools attended the 37th Meeting of the EMU General Assembly and Conference 'Goals for the Development of Music Education / The Seoul Agenda and Bonn Declaration' from 15 to 18 May 2012.

The meeting was organised in close co-operation with the Italian Association of Music Schools (AIdSM) and the Region Emilia Romagna.

The Ministry of Culture and the Czech Commission for UNESCO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, organised from 21 to 24 September in Prague an international Discussion Forum on Artistic Education and the Role of Culture Institutions.

Generalna skupština EMU i Konferencija „Ciljevi razvoja muzičkog obrazovanja“
biće održana od 15-18. maja 2012. godine u Italiji. Konferencija će se baviti Seulskom agendom i Bonskom deklaracijom. Uz Generalnu skupštinu italijanska asocijacija muzičkih škola organizovaće i XI muzički festival mladih "Allegromosso".

Nacrt Strategije obrazovanja do 2020. godine stigao u Nacionalni prosvetni savet na raspravu.
Ministarstvo prosvete i nauke organizovaće javne rasprave u više gradova Srbije.

"ALLEGRO MOSSO" - 11. Festival za mlade muzičare Evrope, 17 - 20. maj 2012.godine u Italiji
U proleće 2012. godine italijanska regija Emilia-Romagna biće "muzička meka" Evrope i domaćin 11. Festivala mladih muzičara iz cele Evrope. Festival će biti organizovan od 17 - 20. maja 2012. godine uz učešće oko 4500 mladih muzičara, kako predviđaju organizatori, koji će muzicirati u nekoliko prelepih gradova ove regije: Raveni, Modeni, Bolonji, Ferari... Za očekivati je da se na Festivalu Allegro mosso  predstave i ansambli, horovi i orkestri muzičkih škola Srbije.

From 2 till 4 March 2012 Norway will be the host of the 3rd meeting of the EMU presidium. The presidium is invited by the Norsk Kulturskoleråd.
