European Forum on Music Education 10-11 February 2016 Leiden Netherlands

Under the umbrella of the European Music Council, this European Forum on Music Education is organised in partnership with the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC), the European Association for Music in Schools (EAS) and the European Music School Union (EMU). Building on the success of the 2011 From Seoul to Bonn - Translating the Goals for the Development of Arts Education for Music in Europeseminar held jointly with the German UNESCO Commission, the forum invites stakeholders from all areas of the music sector to network, discuss synergies and joint strategies as well as exploit and develop new partnerships and collaborations.

Idea Hub: The Idea Hub is an integral part of the Forum that gives project, initiatives and the driving forces behind them a platform to present themselves. It offers insights into the daily work of various musical organisations and provides incentives to rethink educational concepts. Designed for members of AEC, EAS, EMC, EMU and their affiliates, the Idea Hub will showcase various projects and endeavours at the crossroads of music education and other areas of musical life.

EMU Capacity Building Seminar „Group Pedagogy“ in Lucerne, Switzerland 6 – 7 November 2015

Herewith we would like to invite you to register for the new EMU Capacity Building seminar  ‘Group Pedagogy’ which will be taking place in Lucerne, Switzerland 6 - 7 November 2015 with many exciting sessions and wonderful speakers. The event will be hosted by the Musikschule Luzern

The seminar will explore group pedagogy from different angels: instrumental and vocal teaching in groups, distance learning in groups (with Geza Szilvay) as well as group dynamics and diverse pedagogical methods e.g the Colourstrings approach. 

The target group of the seminar is music school directors and teachers as well as people working in national music school associations. The seminar suits well for any person who is interested in developing new pedagogical skills and tools.

The registration fee is 300 € (Registration fee includes dinner 06.11. and lunch 07.11. as well as refreshments during the seminar). 

Please note that participants must take care of the hotel bookings - enclosed to this email you will find a document which lists a number of conveniently located and priced hotels.

The Seminar will take place at Musikschule Luzern, Lucerne, Switzerland

EMU Capacity Building Seminar in Tallinn, Estonia 16.-17.10.2015

EMU Capacity Building seminar  ‘Many Learners, Many Pedagogies’ which had its first edition organised in Vaasa, Finland in 2013, the second one in Nyon, Switzerland in 2014 and the third one in Prague, Czech Republic in 2015, will have its fourth edition taking place in the beautiful city of Tallinn 16.-17.10.2015. The event will be hosted by the Estonian Union of Music Schools.

The seminar will explore different kinds of pedagogies including group pedagogy, net pedagogy, early childhood music education, music education for children with special needs as well as for exceptionally talented children and elderly people.

The target group of the seminar is music school directors and teachers as well as people working in national music school associations. The seminar suits well for any person who is interested in developing new pedagogical skills and tools.

The registration fee is 160 € without the accommodation and 225 € including one hotel night in a single room in Park Inn by Radisson Central Tallinn. Should you be interested in coming a day earlier or stay longer, please contact the hotel directly for your arrangement.

Registration fee includes dinner 16.10. and lunch 17.10. as well as refreshments during the seminar.

Seminar will take place in Park Inn by Radisson Central Tallinn conference room.

Our new location

The EMU has moved! Our new offices are located at Mohrenstrasse 63, Berlin/Mitte. The premises, also known as 'Glinka-Haus', was built in 1914-1916 by Bodo Ebhardt. The building is owned by the German government and offers office space to non-profit organisations.
